Start with the handling application
Forklift attachments should be selected around the actual load, handling method and operating environment. Before choosing an option, record the load dimensions, surface condition, lifting height, required fork opening and the expected daily work cycle.
Side shifters and fork positioners
A side shifter can help position a load without repositioning the truck. A fork positioner can help adjust fork spacing for different pallet or load widths. Confirm the required travel, fork dimensions and the loads that will be handled.
Clamps and specialised attachments
Clamps and other specialised attachments should be matched to the product being handled. Share the load type, dimensions, required contact area and any protection requirements so the configuration can be reviewed accurately.
Check capacity after adding an attachment
An attachment can affect the available capacity and load centre. Confirm the required capacity at the actual load centre and lifting height with the supplier before placing an order.
Prepare a complete enquiry
Include the forklift model if known, maximum load, load dimensions, lift height, required attachment, operating conditions and destination. This gives the OLIFT team the information needed to recommend a suitable configuration and quotation.
